    **The position will be base out of The Woodlands, TX office 


    Major function and purpose of the position

    The benefits administrator position is responsible for planning and carrying out the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plan, and 401(k) plan). The benefits administrator also provides excellent customer service, and provides analytical and technical support in the delivery of the benefit programs.   


    • Coordinate and manage daily benefits processing to include handling enrollments, COBRA, terminations, life event changes and ensure updates are in place.
    • Provide customer service support to internal and external customers and works closely and consults with vendors and brokers to ensure resolution of claim issues as needed.
    • Serve as contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration.
    • Participates in the review, management of benefit policies and ensures compliance.
    • Provide recommendations regarding department processes to increase efficiency and continual audit.
    • Oversees short-and long-term disability leave of absence process and monitors lines communication with the employee and vendor to ensure the process is seamless and provides redirection as needed.
    • Initiates, processes and monitors employee requests for leave under FMLA Company sponsored disability/leave programs. Responsible for Initiating invoice for premium payments when appropriate.
    • Oversees and coordinates annual benefits/wellness events.
    • Responsible for benefit reporting, reconciliation and audit of monthly vendor bills.
    • Participates in new hire orientations and benefit open enrollment meetings.


    Bachelor’s degree in Business or human resource management, with at least five (5) years of experience in benefits administration.


    • Minimum of 5 years corporate benefits administration experience.
    • Must be proficient in in MS Office
    • Experience with ViewPoint highly desirable.
    • Clear understanding of regulatory impact on benefits operations.
    • Bi-Lingual (Spanish), a must.
    • Overnight travel as required to attend Open Enrollment events.
    • Problem solving is required to analyze issues and create action plans. Problem solving with data requires independent interpretation of guidelines.
    • Ability to adapt to changing work priorities; communicate with diverse groups; maintain confidentiality; meet deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; work as part of a team; work with detailed information/data; and work with frequent interruptions.
    • Ability to research & handle extremely confidential information in a professional & discretionary manner.
    • Attend annual HR/Benefit related training classes to keep abreast of current applicable benefit legislation. 
    • Demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicates effectively at all levels of the organization. Results orientation.
